Harmonic Drive LLC, a manufacturer of gearheads, gear component sets, and servo actuators, chose Connolly Brothers to build its manufacturing plant and office space at the Dunham Ridge Business Park in Beverly, MA. The three-story office building and light manufacturing/assembly space occupies 47,000 square feet adjacent to a 50,000 square-foot high-bay maintenance facility. For the new corporate headquarters, Connolly worked through 50 feet of elevation change while ensuring the space addresses Harmonic Drive's industry-specific concerns.

To meet Harmonic's long-term vision, Connolly developed a plan attuned to flexibility and growth. This included placing a 12-inch-thick concrete slab throughout the machine shop space, enabling easy movement of heavy, high-tech machinery; an electrical system designed for such movement; and a structural design that prepares the company for non-disruptive future growth.
