Project Scope:
Due to their continued growth, Global Protection Corp. (GPC) required a larger facility tailored to meet their operational needs for added warehouse and product packaging space. The scope of this project involved the fit-up of 42,000 square feet, including 10,000 square feet of manufacturing and packing space; 26,000 square feet of warehouse space equipped with a floor-to-ceiling, narrow-aisle racking system for inventory storage; and 6,000 square feet of office space featuring frameless glass partitions, high ceilings and deluxe lighting.
The Connolly Brothers team strategically navigated the building's existing conditions. The industrial building formerly served as a Garelick Farms dairy manufacturing plant; as such, the building contained industrial food processing equipment and piping. To convert the space into a functional manufacturing facility for GPC, the team demolished the first and second floors, which involved removing the existing equipment and implementing structural modifications to create an open floor plan. Moreover, the building needed to be updated to comply with current building codes. This required re-routing the extensive underground plumbing system, reconfiguring room layouts and installing an expanded fire suppression system, including a fire pump.
