When Jumbo Capital Management was ready to build its CubeSmart self-storage facility in Everett, Mass., it called on Connolly Brothers to manage construction of the building.
Scope of the project included ground up construction of the building. Key features included framed steel beams, a composite deck atop concrete slabs, an insulated metal panel exterior sheathing system, a glass curtainwall system, an insulated roof membrane system, and decorative masonry on the building facade.
The building contains more than 1,200 temperature-controlled self-storage units, an access control system, two freight elevators, and dedicated sales/administration offices, with adjacent parking. Connolly worked in collaboration with Surus Development & Construction on the project, which included the removal and replacement of more than 35,000 cubic yards of structurally unsuitable soil.
