Designated as a historic site on the U.S. Register of National Historic Places, Cambridge's Central Square is a cultural center known for its many ethnic restaurants, graffiti art, and other entertainment options. When Connolly Brothers was called upon to renovate the exterior façade for a multi-tenant retail complex on a small, busy urban corner lot, the Connolly team knew the project would require careful planning and coordination with local authorities to ensure that continuous pedestrian and vehicular traffic would not be disrupted throughout the renovation process.

Using its design-build approach, Connolly provided a single point of contact and responsibility for the retail complex owner. In addition, by providing one-stop preconstruction, architectural design and engineering, and construction management services, Connolly was able to deliver significant cost- and time-savings. The result of the work was a retail location attractive to tenants and customers alike, and one which fit within the character of this storied neighborhood.
