Boston College
Newton, MA
Boston College has called upon Connolly Brothers for a wide range of construction projects over the course of many years such as dormitory renovations, labs, animal care facilities and other projects.
Higgins Hall Lab 160
Renovation of a 1,000 SF lab located in Higgins Hall, home to BC's Physics and Biology departments. Scope included coordination and installation of new lab equipment, laser curtain, fume hood and gas cabinet. Significant upgrades were made to both HVAC and MEP systems. Specialty gas piping was installed to support high energy physics laser research related to the study of the Layer Hall Effect. Work took place in an operational lab building requiring Connolly to coordinate construction activities without affecting other operational lab spaces. Connolly's operations team worked with Boston College's facilities department to execute phased scheduling of shutdowns while managing MEP system tie-ins to a very active lab building with minimal disruption.
Higgins Hall Zhou Lab 140
Renovation of existing 1,500 SF lab suite. Project involved installation of new MEP systems and all new finishes. Connolly's team coordinated all MEP shutdowns in strict adherence to the Boston College facilities department's policy.
Lyons Hall Renovation
Connolly completed an overhaul of communal areas in Lyons Hall, home to classrooms and administrative offices.
“In all that time, we have only had success stories. I appreciate Connolly Brothers' good work and I know that they always bring in good people, so I don't have to worry about it. Connolly is one of the best estimators I've ever come across." - Paul Scarnici, construction project manager at BC
