Vicor Corporation - Manufacturing Facilities Expansion
Andover, MA
Project Scope

Watch the time-lapse video showcasing the transformation of Vicor's manufacturing facilities in Andover, Massachusetts. Captured over the duration of the project, the footage highlights Connolly Brothers' work bringing Vicor's vision to life by enhancing the space and creating the infrastructure to support the company's continued growth in power technology.

Working alongside Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects, scope of the project included building a new two-story manufacturing addition to the existing building. A new three-story entryway and lobby was also constructed. This space also features a new boardroom, conference room, rooftop patio, and renovated cafeteria areas. Connolly Brothers cut into the existing facility and seamlessly integrated the new structures, operating with careful attention to noise and dust mitigation, given that work took place adjacent to an occupied office environment. Connolly also worked around mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure to install a three-stop elevator shaft, all while maintaining strict COVID-19 protocols.

As the project reached completion, Vicor's functional and aesthetic goals were accomplished with sleek new facilities for the power tech company to continue growing in its existing location.

"Connolly's on-site team as well as their support and leadership teams were professional and easy to work with and integrated well into our active factory. Connolly is a well-run, highly professional operation and we are very pleased with the end-result." - Bob Hall, vice president of Vicor
