Connolly Brothers, Inc., a construction management, planning, design, and development firm serving private commercial, industrial, and institutional clients, announces that it has completed the construction of Eastern Yacht Club's new racquets facilities. Established in 1870, the historic club is recognized for hosting significant national and international regattas. It has enhanced its on-land offerings with the newly-constructed facilities, which include clay tennis courts, paddle/platform tennis courts, spectator decks, a clubhouse featuring a tennis pro shop and a warming hut that invites members to connect and relax by the fireplace before or after a match.

Connolly Brothers, which provided estimating, pre-construction, design, engineering, and construction management services on the new racquets facilities, has served Eastern Yacht Club for generations, extending back to pre-World War II projects. Connolly rebuilt the club's beloved Stick-style building in the wake of a devastating 2014 fire, adding a new sailing center below Eastern's famous Samoset Porch, as well as a multipurpose room in the Sailing Office, a new bar, members' locker rooms, and a children's camp area. Eastern Yacht Club's leadership seized the moment to turn tragedy into triumph, adding modern HVAC systems, wiring, and lighting.

“Eastern Yacht Club has played a historic role in establishing Marblehead as 'the yachting capital of the world,' and we are very gratified and honored to be called back, time and again, to partner with Eastern as it continues to advance its world-class offerings and amenities," says Jay Connolly, president of Connolly Brothers.

The project team on the new racquet facilities included BLW Engineers (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), Hayes Engineering (civil engineering), and JSN Associates (structural engineering).
